LENOX HILL PENTHOUSE
Lenox Hill Penthouse
New York, NY
This Upper East Side penthouse was transformed from a warren of small, formal rooms into a luminous, contemporary home designed around how a young family actually lives. Rather than simply updating finishes, the renovation rethought the apartment’s structure—removing corridors and opening the plan to create a fluid sequence of living spaces filled with light.
The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together, organized by sculptural millwork and carefully placed volumes that subtly define zones without closing them off. A central island becomes the social heart of the home, while built-in storage, integrated seating, and tailored cabinetry keep everyday life orderly and calm.
Color and material were used deliberately to give each area its own identity while maintaining overall cohesion. Warm woods, saturated accents, and refined detailing bring a sense of personality and playfulness to the prewar envelope, balancing elegance with comfort.
The result is a home that feels expansive yet intimate—formal enough for entertaining, relaxed enough for daily family life—and a modern reinterpretation of the classic Upper East Side apartment.
